1G Is What We All Need

Technology, a popular word bandied about so freely, and now very fashionable jargon per day. In recent years, technology has evolved very rapidly. It is now the fastest growing and advancing in our time. Today, our society enjoys its benefits. We are blessed with modern tools that can perform tasks that once seemed impossible.

On the other hand, technology itself also manipulates human influences, including governing human behavior, and in turn influence society's attitudes, traditions, cultures, etc. As you can see nowadays, we are all bounded by the different gadgets and devices we want to own someday in our lives:
We all want to have a 3G phone with a 16G memory,

a computer with 4G processor and a 500G hard drive.

an iPod with a 32G capacity.

PSP 3000 limited edition with 64MB of internal system memory

but in life, we only need 1G...GOD, who has a timeless warranty, an unlimited memory and whose love through eternity.
Bottomline: We must not forget, it is assumed that the key objective of technology is to increase the value of human life through  maximizing happiness and reducing suffering!

Do Templates Play An Important Role To Your Blog?

I have changed my blog template for 6 times. But actually my recent template is also the template I used on my 3rd "change-template" attempt.

Having a blog here in blogspot, I personally look for the page layout first before reading its  posts. That is why, in my own point of view even our blogs include unique and great write-ups it should be harmonized by an attractive template with blog widgets correctly placed.  So, we must have the time also to decorate our blogs with pulchritudinous free blogspot templates. By this, we are making our blogs integrated.

No doubt, templates do play an important role to your blog!

What Must Be In A Comment?

CATEGORY: | Wednesday, July 7, 2010

Leaving a comment in a certain blogpost is a way to increase your page rank as well as your blog traffic. This is a tested and proven way to make your own blog having its way to stardom in the blogosphere.

But to have an effective comment, a blogger must keep in mind these two (2) things:

EXPLAIN...
A blogger should explain why he agrees or disagrees on a certain blogpost. There is no minimum or maximum number of sentences required as long it is well explained. Another thing is never use words which sound insulting to the part who scribbled the post.

SHARE...
If you have an idea or experiences related to the blogpost, don't hesitate to share it. Sharing is somehow a way that you able to help others specially the blog readers.

However, nice post, I agree, keep posting, I like your post are also comments but I consider those as lousy ones. Lousy in the sense that these phrases are being commented because "commentators" (blog readers) are also expecting a blog traffic in return or they're not actually reading the whole blog post which is absolutely wrong

Anyways, the image you have witnessed above is an example of an effective comment from my debatable and intriguing blogpost before entitled SEX AND LOVE at VARIANCE.

Concentration of a Solution

Concentration of a solution refers to the weight or volume of solute in a specified amount of solution or solvent. According to chem.purdue.edu, it is a macroscopic property, meaning it describes the behaviors or characteristic of a sample which is large enough to see, weigh, manipulate, handle, etc.

It can be expressed in variety of methods:
1.) Specific Gravity is equal to:

since density is equal to mass/volume
Therefore Specific Gravity is equal to:

2.) Mass Percent refers to the mass of solute contributed to the total mass of solution. Mass Percent is equal to:

3.) Volume Percent refers to the volume of solute contributed to the total volume of solution. Volume Percent is equal to:

4.) Molarity (M) refers to the number of moles of solute present in a liter of solution. Molarity is equal to:

5.) Molality (m) refers to the number of moles of solute present in a kilogram of solvent. Molality is equal to:

6.) Normality (N) refers to the number of gram-equivalents of solute present in a liter of solution. Normality is equal to:

With the aid of the 6 formulas indicated above...
Have a try in solving the SAMPLE PROBLEMS:
1.) What is the molality of a solution prepared by dissolving 70.0g of glucose in 850g of water?
2.) A pickling liquor is prepared by dissolving 215mL of concentrated HCl solution in 450mL of water. What percent of the liquor is acid?
3.) Calculate the normality of a solution prepared by dissolving 45.0g of barium hydroxide in enough water to make 500mL of solution.

CCB PCB Preparation/Making

PCB (Printed Circuit Board) is a conducive pattern applied on one both sides of a substrate where electronic components are soldered to complete a circuit. We will be preparing and making our Printed Circuit Board using Copper Clad Board as shown aboveActually it is done when we already have our circuit design on the bondpaper.

Steps for CCB PCB Preparation/Making
1.) Cut copper clad board to specified size (e.g. 5"x 5"). The size is dependent on the number and sizes of electronic components present in a circuit design.
2.) Straighten or smoothen the edges by filing or by sandpaper. This is to avoid sharp or pointed corners and edges which would be the cause of wounds.
3.) If you have seen unnecessary marks on the copperside  (e.g. pen marks, pencil marks, dirt), clean using an eraserDO NOT USE sandpaper in erasing the unnecessary marks.
4.) Cover copperside with masking tape. It would be necessary if the masking tape  has greater width. Be sure the tape is firmly in contact with the copper. This to avoid for the "wanted" copper to be removed by the Ferric chloride when etched.

5.) Photocopy your PCB Layout. After you made your PCB layout on a bondpaper, you need to have it photocopied to have an extra just in case you got mistake in cutting your PCB design on the board.
6.) Cut and glue the photocopied PCB Layout on top of masking tape
7.) Wait for few minutes until it dries.
8.) Punch the holes (circular in shapes) using prick punch and a hammer. Avoid using too much force as this well break your board and will ruin your design.
9.) Cut unwanted parts or layout (colored white on the image above) using a cutter. Make sure your cutter is sharp.
10.) Peel-off the cut-out unwanted layout exposing the copper. Do not do this as if you are in a hurry because there will possibilities you haven't cut your layout properly that will result for the exposure of wanted copper.
11.) Etch your Copper Clad Board using the Ferric Chloride solution.
12.) When you are done etching your design, rinse the board with flowing water.
13.) Remove the masking tape.
14.) Drill the holes using a mini drill

15.) Solder your electronic components.

Soldering is a broad topic. I will impart my ideas about soldering in my next post. Actually PCB Preparation/Making using Presensitized board is quite similar to Copper Clad Board but neglecting some of its steps, because in this process, you will not be using cutter and masking tape anymore. Aside from that your circuit design will be in a tracing paper and you will be using the sunlight or the Ultraviolet rays for transferring the circuit design to your board. I will talk more on these in a post next time.

Sensible Joke

As a student, we really need to deal with subjects which really impugn us. To pass these subjects, we are in requisite to study more. Physics is somehow one of those subjects that I bestowed my utmost time in studying way back in my high school and college years. As one of the site' defined that Physics is a natural science that involves the study of matter and its motion through space-time, as well as all applicable concepts such as energy and force. More broadly, it is the general analysis of nature conducted in order to understand how the world and universe behave.

To surmount this subject, we have our own techniques to feed up all the necessary lessons in our mind specially for exam days or quiz time purposes because this subject really necessitates memorization of formulas, analysis on problems or even conversion. However, we really have this creativeness inside us which totally ease everything. This "creativeness" thing may be our tactics or methods to remember the important things that has been discussed by our teachers.

I reminisced a "sensible joke" shared by a friend of mine in our place which aided me to remember a certain conversion in Physics. The joke has a connection with those images above who are few of the famous physicists namely Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein and Blaise Pascal
Here it goes:

Newton, Einstein and Pascal were playing hide and seek. Albert Einstein was the "person to seek". While Einstein was counting, Pascal went to the bathroom right away while Newton unfortunately saw a chalk on the floor. So he immediately drew a square measuring 1 meter each side by means of a steel rule he found beside it, and there he stood up as if hiding as well.

After Einstein finished counting, he right away descried Newton standing behind him.

Einstein: Hey Newton! I found you...You will be the next "person to seek".
Newton: What are you talking about? I am NOT Newton!
Einstein: Huh? Why? You are Newton. Don't fool me.
Newton: I said I am not Newton! I am Pascal!
Einstein: How you became Pascal?
Newton: It seems I am standing here in a square measuring 1 meter each side, then its area would be 1 square meter, knowing the area of a square is (s^2). Right?
Einstein: Yes! Then what's the significance for that?
Newton: Well as we all know, "1 Newton per square meter (1N/m^2) is 1 Pascal (1Pa)" So, I am now Pascal.

Did you get it? Have you laugh? LOLs (Laugh Out Loud). I know its corny, but it does make sense. I know jokes are primarily for laughing purposes but somehow there are some instances that jokes are informative like what I have mentioned above. And because of this joke, I never forgot that conversion.

Anyway, jokes are part of that "creativeness" things that by some means it help us in our lessons. Others adopted words or phrases for quickly retrospection. But nonetheless all these things depend on your brilliance or ingenuity that in the end can be a sort of imitation to all; an imitation which indeed helped many students and professionals nowadays.

Red Tag

Its already a habit of I and my friends here in our place that during brownout, that's the time we usually talk about paranormal things a.k.a. ghost stories. When we say a ghost, its the soul or spirit of a deceased person, taken to be capable of appearing in visible form or otherwise manifesting itself to the living. If you will going to ask me right now, if I have seen a ghost in my entire life? Then probably my answer would be a big "NO, not yet!", because I have no experience at all seeing a ghost in real realm (face to face) but I do believe that they exist and sometimes yes! I do feel them in my own ways in the surrounding.

Last night, in the middle of our conversation with my colleagues, my buddy named "Shin" shared his story to us which ultimately somehow caught my interest. I can't tell if its true because even Shin didn't know the origin of the story he wanted to bestow with us , but somehow it talked about a past event happened in a hospital. Indeed, one thing clanged in my mind on that time was the "hospital thing" which is purely obvious, a place wherein most preternatural activities happened. Anyway, this is the translated story:dynight. She was tasked by the doctor to get something on the 5th floor in the hospital. On her way to elevator, she felt something strange but she just  While she was inside the elevator, she was accompanied by this girl who is also going to the 3rd floor on the said building. And then suddenly, the elevator opened, the nurse and the girl saw a boy running a long towards them wanting to go inside but the nurse closed the elevator immediately. The girl got curious and she interrogated the nurse.

Girl: Why did you do that? Why did you close the elevator's door?
Nurse: I knew that boy. He was one of our patients here who died yesterday. Have you seen the red tag on his wrist? Red tags are put on dead patients.

The girl raised her wrist.
Girl: Like this?

Yes, you are right! The girl is also wearing a red tag on her wrist. I just don't know, why that nurse haven't noticed it in the first place while they're both inside the elevator. But anyway, my point here in my new post is we must "be vigilant" anytime to our environment because somehow things that we really fear are already beside us. Nevertheless, I stand that there's always a reason behind why ghost appears visibly in our lives nowadays!

Birthday Greetings

As I was searching something in the internet, I have visited to this site which is somehow related to my new post about "birthday greetings". The site's contents were focused more on the history of the word "Happy Birthday To You!" also known us "Happy Birthday" in today's generation. Actually this is the most recognized song in the English language according to the 1998 Guinness Book of World Records and had already 18 languages-translations on its song's base lyrics. American sisters Patty Hill and Mildred J. Hill were the one who written and composed the "Good Morning to All", a song where the melody "Happy Birthday To You" was established. In fact, the combination of lyrics and melody in "Happy Birthday To You" that are sung essentially every home across the globe first appeared in print in the year 1912 and probably existed even earlier.

Eventually calendars were developed to denote time changes and other special days like birthdays which are vigorously anticipated by every individual. That's why, birthday greetings somehow give significance to the birthday celebrant on his/her special day. Birthday greetings can be in the form of a letter, wordings for birthday wishes, cards or even a gift. Whatever form it is, thoughts still count. But anyway, celebrating our birthday or not is somehow considered a part of our tradition perpetually.

P.S. The above image is my birthday greetings to my friend Poy del Valle, the birthday celebrant tomorrow.

Venus-Crescent Moon

May 16, 2010 - The date that I was still in the office when a lot of my friends messaged me in my phone that I really need to go out and witness this kind of phenomenon in the sky. I do regret that I haven't observed and saw this rare occurrence, but still I was amazed when my friends shared and tagged this photo in my Facebook account.

Yes! I am really curious why is this happening? So I tried to  research about this in the internet and have gone to this site stated "that last Sunday evening-May 16, 2010, the time when the thickening Crescent Moon shine to planet Venus's upper left. The faint orange stars near it, as twilight deepens into night are in the feet of Gemini (a constellation)."

In fact, all these celestial events in the changing sky from May 14-22, 2010 are already predicted by the astronomers. Its somehow the journey of the moon passing planet Venus in twilight.

YEMA for Dessert and Business

Desserts can be sweetened pastries/foods we eat after meals. Some are wrapped in cellophane like butterscotch. Some are decorated like cakes. Some are cooled like salad. And some are freezed like ice cream. These were something we crave for when we are not yet full. With its taste, we are tempted to eat more until we filled our stomach to its maximum capacity. In fact, desserts are mostly what people looked for in every special occasion, because somehow, these will bequeaths the finishing touch to at the end of the meal to make it perfect.

Yema” is a kind of dessert. It is a cooked condensed milk, shaped and rolled over on sugar. I am not new to this, but this is one of the desserts that I really love. With its sweet taste, I’ve been addicted to it. Yema could be in pyramid or circular in shape. Actually, I have it last Wednesday night as my dessert after dinner.

Selling yema could be a good business. In fact my sister is selling yema but its temporary. Little yet it will clicks people’s taste. As Php100 as your capital, you could profit in the range of Php40 up depends on the size and price of the yema you are selling.

If you’re curious about the process of how to cook yema, here are the materials,  equipment and ingredients you need to prepare and cooking procedures to follow:

Materials and Equipment:
  • Stove
  • Pan
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Mixing bowl
  • Colored cellophane for wrapping
Ingredients:
  • 1 can of Condense Milk
  • 1 tbsp. of Vanilla
  • 1 tbsp. of Butter
  • 1 tbsp. of Oil
  • 1 cup of Sugar (white)
Procedures:
  1. Put the pan on the stove with low fire.
  2. When the pan is already dry and hot. Put 1 tbsp. of oil.
  3. Then, put condense milk in the pan.
  4. Then add vanilla and butter. Mix these using the wooden spoon. We use oil in order for the condense milk not to stick in the pan while we are mixing.
  5. After you see the change of its color, remove it from the pan and let it cool. (Note: This step will determine if your yema will either soft or hard. If you want soft yema, you will just stay the pan on the stove for 10-15minutes; for hard yema is 20 minutes up.)
  6. Prepare for a cup of sugar and put it in the bowl.
  7. Shape the cooked yema according to your like, it could be circular or pyramid in shape.
  8. Then, rolled it over on the bowl of sugar.
  9. Cut the colored cellophane to desired size of your yema and wrap it.
  10. This is now ready for packaging and selling.
